The philosophy

People first. He coined the phrase.

Dr. Hogan coined the phrase “We treat people, NOT teeth!” because it is the operating principle of this practice, not a poster. He takes the time to know his patients by name, face, and family, and personalizes every full-arch plan to the person sitting in the chair.

It’s why patients with decades of dental anxiety tell us this is the first office that ever felt safe — and why one patient drove 600 miles for a 6 month checkup she could have gotten anywhere.

“The way dentistry is done here is more like ministry. Each visit just gets better and I feel like I am important and will get the best of care. My dentist teaches other dentists. Dr. Hogan is a gift to all who see him.”

What is The Atlantic Implant Institute?

It is the implant education institute Dr. Hogan directs in Virginia Beach, where doctors from around the world come for advanced dental implant training. The techniques used in your treatment are the same ones he teaches to other dentists.

What does “We treat people, NOT teeth!” mean?

It is the phrase Dr. Hogan coined for his philosophy of care: patients are people first, known by name, face, and family — not cases or procedures. It shapes everything from how consultations are run to how the team walks you through healing.

The team at the table

The doctors working alongside Dr. Hogan.

Full Implant Choice is Dr. Hogan’s practice, and he plans and performs every full-arch case personally — but he does not work alone. Dr. James Lish, a Board-Certified Prosthodontist who served 13 years as a Navy dental officer, crafts the restorations your implants carry.
