Dr. Adam Hogan is a recognized leader in dental implant, restorative, cosmetic and sedation dentistry throughout America.

Dr. Hogan is a general dentist, experienced and accomplished implant dentist, life-long learner, teacher, mentor, husband, and father. He has a passion for his patients and personalizes his work. He coined the term “We treat people, NOT teeth!”® He felt so strongly about this philosophy that he sought and obtained a copyright trademark on this and other similar phrases to distinguish the difference between caring for people and simply fixing teeth. People who have been to his practice recognize and appreciate the time he takes to treat them and get to know them by name, face, and family. At age 17, Dr. Hogan turned down engineering scholarships at the University of Michigan (U of M) to follow his heart, enlisting in the infantry of the United States Marine Corps (USMC). After his enlistment, Dr. Hogan began his professional studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he dual-majored in pre-medicine and anthropology/zoology. After just 3 years, he attended The University of Michigan School of Dentistry from 1999 to 2003. At the Michigan school of Dentistry, he served student council and the community while concurrently receiving clinical accolades and awards notably in periodontics. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) in May 2003. From 2003 to 2006, Dr. Hogan again served in the United States Navy as a doctor and Lieutenant. Doctor Hogan completed a hospital residency program (GPR) at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in 2004 and then would serve aboard LSD-48, USS Ashland for two additional years. There he provided quality and comprehensive dental care to sailors, Marines, and foreign military. In the subsequent years he studied and took examinations in Chicago, IL with the AAID and ABOI earning his Associate Fellow-AAIDHonored Fellow-AAID and Diplomate-ABOI implant credentials. As of 2013, less than 500 dentists worldwide held this credential in implant dentistry. He performed well on examinations and would later be asked to examine, lecture and teach dental implantology to other dentists. In fact, he serves as a board examiner for the AAID and assists the editor of the Journal of Oral Implantology. He has lectured all around the world on the topics of dental implants, bone grafting and teeth-in-a-day.  Currently he directs The Atlantic Implant Institute in Virginia Beach, VA where doctors travel to from all over the world to seek advanced dental implant education. Dr. Hogan is a recognized expert and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) for several dental implant corporations around the world to include Neodent (a Straumann group,) CareStream Dental, StellaLife, and Sprintray.  His experience and interest has always been focused in oral surgery to include dental implantology. In fact, his thesis and comprehensive treatment presentation was on “Teeth in a Day” and Immediately loaded dental implants. Dr. Hogan proudly supports his local community through charities such as local volunteer rescueToys-4-tots and WalkMS. He has also enjoyed coaching youth hockey. He is a local Virginia Beach resident and enjoys the Chesapeake Bay, the beach, boating, fishing, hunting, hockey, fitness, and spending time with his dog and family.  Dr. Hogan credits his happiness and success to his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps as well as his wife, family, friends and mentors along the way.
